Counter-Strike: Condition Zero

About Counter-Strike: Condition Zero

Condition Zero is a useful choice when you want Counter-Strike with structured solo objectives. Tour of Duty combines familiar round-based maps with bots and challenges, so you can practice without joining a public match. The package also covers a different kind of solo play through Deleted Scenes. Choose the component according to whether you want rounds or scripted missions.

For the original multiplayer-focused game, see Counter-Strike 1.6. Choose the edition your friends or server community use; owning a bundle with both games does not make their clients interchangeable.

Tour of Duty and Deleted Scenes

Tour of Duty develops the round-based rules of Counter-Strike through a sequence of challenges. Deleted Scenes is launched separately and focuses on scripted single-player missions. It is not the same campaign under another name; check which entry you start in your library.

Practice and multiplayer

Bot matches give you time to learn routes and weapon control. Human opponents will behave differently, so treat practice as a starting point. For multiplayer, agree on Condition Zero with friends: the original Counter-Strike and newer editions have separate clients.

Key features

  • Tour of Duty challenges
  • Matches with bots

System requirements

For installation through Steam, use a Windows version supported by the current client. The original game lists a 500 MHz CPU, 96 MB RAM and a 16 MB graphics card; these historical figures do not include the requirements of modern Windows and Steam.

Questions and answers

Is this just a map pack for CS 1.6?

No. Condition Zero is a separate product with its own single-player content and multiplayer client.

Which component is for scripted missions?

Choose Deleted Scenes. Tour of Duty instead uses the round-based bot challenge format.
